The family took a 4 day impromptu trip to San Fran! I didn't bring the camera because on a short trip with no plans it would have been too heavy to carry. So all of these where taken on the iPhone.
At the end of the San Deigo bay (South Bay) is the Living Coast Discovery Center. A beautiful but small wildlife refuge and aquarium. Where you can walk among the marsh. Pet bat rays, feed sharks and feed endangered green sea turtles.
Just a few photos from a hike around mission trails the other day. All taken with the iPhone 6s.
June 20th was the Summer Solstice and the Full Moon
For the first time in 70 years the June Full moon (the Strawberry moon) happened on the Summer solstice! I went to a nearby mountain and grabbed a few pictures.
Every Tuesday is Taco Tuesday but this Tuesday brought a special surprise. A sunset with different colors across the sky! No better way to enjoy the freshest fish tacos in San Diego than with a sunset.
These boats where in the Americas Cup Harbor and are some of the sport fishing fleet.

San Diego is a place where the sun hits the city every day in the most majestic of ways. The average San Diegan has a million pictures of scenery like this. If you ever want to be jealous, or want a constant stream of sunsets sent to you, add a San Diego Native to you Instagram or Sanpchat, you'll almost get tired of seeing how beautiful it always is.

The updates to this blog are way to few and far between, my apologies. I have decided to install a queue in order to keep a more steady flow of photos being posted. With the Spring semester getting into full swing and Grey Whale watching season approaching its peak, I'll have even less time to update this blog. So with in the next week the queue posts will begin.
Thank you with your patience with this photo blog.
With Valentines Day approaching I thought it would be appropriate to post this dew kissed red rose, to start off this new queue.
This is a very late post, this was the hunters moon rising on October 2016 2015.
While writing a term paper on glaciers this semester I had a serious case of nostalgia. Back in 2011 I had the amazing opportunity to go to Alaska on a National Geographic/Lindblad cruise with a friends family. (Don't asks me how I'm still to this day trying to figure out why they took me). It was beyond magical, I'll never forget the glaciers I saw, nor the Bears we encountered. And since I got into to college studying Geography I've only become more interested with them. I could go on for hours taking about glaciers but I do have a term paper to get back to. This post just includes two of my favorite photos of glacial ice from the trip. This was back in the day when I only had a little point and shot camera.
In DelMar there is a place called the Free Flight Exotic Bird Aviary. They house rare rescue birds and also birdsit for people who work all day so the birds get the attention they need while their owners are away. In addition they are also open to the public for public viewing and enrichment activities, $5 and you get to hold beautiful exotic birds of all sizes.
Be careful they bite!
I try to never get used to beautiful things, that way you can always view them as special, it's hard to do that though. These are just some pictures from the past few weeks of work, I constantly get to view some of the prettiest sunsets over the water, I always take pictures because I never know when I'll see something as beautiful again.
Always stop to look at the beauty of the world, one day it won't be there. Remain humble and remember to appreciate life.
Today I was day dreaming about sailing and I just felt I needed to share this picture. Enjoy
Just further evidence about sunsets on the San Diego bay being always amazing.

Honestly there is no cool story for this photo, one of the windows a work broke and I ran up to it and the first thought in my mind was "this would make a SICK black and white photo"
Where I work we have a Blue Whale watching cruise for the summer months of July-August, we go off shore and we search for Blue Whales the largest mammal on the planet! One day on our way out, not 5 miles off the coast we find a Humpback Whale! (Megaptera novaeangliae). At first we couldn't believe it! Totally a surprise such a rare sight, yet here it was coming towards us getting curious with our boat.
The long and the short of it is, this was an extremely rare occasion to see a humpback in this area. We spent hours watching this whale while the boat was in neutral and as we were essentially drifting. Letting the whale get close and swim under us and around us.
This is my favorite photo from that day. I have to admit I did not take a lot of photos this trip because I was caught in the moment watching this majestic whale swim and play.
